World’s best airports of 2016

For the fourth year in a row, Singapore Changi Airport has bagged the World’s Best Airports title at the annual SkyTrax World Airport Awards, announced Wednesday in Cologne, Germany. The Skytrax awards are based on millions of votes collected in passenger surveys. Many of those passing through the island city-state are clearly pleased with the airport’s innovations, such as two 24-hour movie theaters screening the latest blockbusters for free, a rooftop swimming pool and a butterfly garden. Coming second is South Korea’s Incheon International Airport, which has held the No. 2 spot since 2013. This year’s top 10 list hasn’t changed much from previous years, though the addition of Doha’s Hamad International Airport, from 22nd place last year, marks the first Middle East airport to join the ranks. Airport authorities in Japan are getting things right, too, with three of its airports among the top 10. Once again, North America failed to have an airport in the top 10. The first bird sanctuary of kerala, which the famous ornithologist Salim Ali described as ‘The richest bird habitat on peninsular India’is all set for the Summer season with its latest developments. Third terminal for Cochin International Airport

The brand new international passenger terminal at CIAL (Cochin International Airport Limited)is expected to be officially launched on Friday (26 February 016) in a ceremony overseen by Oommen Chandy, Kerala’s Chief Minister. The commercial operations of the new terminal will begin on May 26 and the new terminal will be known as Terminal-3 or T-3. salient features of the new international terminal are elevation to feature Kerala Temple architecture, two level terminal-arrival at ground level and departure at first-level, finger pier concept to handle 13-15 aircraft through aerobridges during peak operation. The two-level facility will cover a total area of almost 1.4 lakhs m² and will feature more than 100 check-in counters, 19 boarding gates, 15 aerobridges and six baggage reclaim belts. It will be able to handle 4,000 passengers per hour. Developed in a record time of two years, according to airport officials, the project is estimated to have cost of INR 10 billion (US$145 million). Atlantic Museum, Europe’s first underwater museum

The Atlantic Museum will be really an amazing destination for a traveler! One might have seen bunch of museums but rare when it is under water. Europe’s first ever underwater museum is named as the Atlantic Museum or Museo Atlantico, near Spain’s Lanzarote island is going to get branded soon as a destination under the ocean, replete with alluring structures from human life and history. The museum is placed at a depth of around 39 feet below water on the sea floor of the Las Coloradas Bay. 400 sculptures are waiting for you in the museum designed by international artist Jason deCaires Taylor. Taylor specializes in sculptures made out of pH-neutral marine cement, which is designed to attract marine life and eventually turn his works into artificial reefs. As you can see from the pictures, the sculptures look pretty great hanging around on the ocean floor, although you need to either snorkel or dive to see them in person. The Trip advisor rated Jodhpur’s own Umaid Bhawan palace as the best luxurious Hotel in the world. The People choice award of 2016 has been given to this palace which also hosts the official residence of the royal family of Rajasthan. Started on 1928 and completed by 1943, this palace which is built like the Buckingham Palace is a wonderful blend of the Western and conventional ways. The architecture of the palace is described as an amalgam of Indo-Saracenic.  With a huge area of 26acres which has numerous gardens and trees, the palace holds 367 room. The inner vaulted dome is the major attraction in the palace which rises to a height of 103 feet in the interior part which is capped by an outer dome of 43 feet height. Automatic Headlight On (AHO) for all two wheeler

Automatic Headlight On ( AHO) or simply Auto Headlamps are going to be mandatory for all two wheeler which are to be produced from 2017 onward. The central government of India has made it mandatory for all two wheeler  be equipped with Auto Headlamps. Both the scooters and motorcycles are set to get two new safety features. This includes an auto Headlamp, and a sound device that can alert the people around for any accidents. The exact details for these enhancements  will be made available in time. The Transport ministry has discussed regarding this safety measures with the automobile companies and thus a set of norms have been set up for the same. No Headlight Switch The new motorcycles and scooters which will come up with the Automatic Headlight On(AHO) feature will not have any switch for the riders to turn the headlights on or off.
