Kappil beach, the divine love of sea and backwaters

Kappil beach trivandrum

Kappil  beach is a perfect blend of sea and backwaters which one can never exclude in their trip. It is not just a splendid picturesque spot for your eyes but you can experience the beauty through boating as well. The Priyadarshini Boat Club here offers boating facilities.

Kappil beach is a must visit place, especially if you are spending time at Varkala beach. The perfect combination of beach and backwater makes the Kappil beach odd from other beaches in Trivandrum.

Technically the road is now separating the sea and lake. The west is the Arabian Sea and the east is Edava Narayana Lake, which takes on a greenish tinge at times.

Road which seperate lake and sea

Definitely, it is an excellent option for the families to spend some time in the evening. Kappil beach is not listed in the front row beaches of Trivandrum like Kovalam and Varkala but soon it will.

The beach is not yet commercialized and hence you won’t find any nearby restaurants or coffee shops. The area will be usually quite crowded in Sunday evenings. The best time to visit Kappil beach is September to May. However in June it won’t be bad at all, but heavy rain can betray the travel plans.

These beaches feature a rocky barrier, a harsh reminder of the powerful tides of the swollen sea. And these rocks stand up to the onslaught of waves quite regularly, protecting the beach side road and nearby settlements.

Undoubtedly, Kappil beach is the paradise for photographers and bird watchers. Sunsets are exceptionally beautiful than sunrises! Photographers will not get disappointed at this destination.
