Kerala, popularly known as the God’s Own Country is one of the Europe’s favorite travel and tourism destinations, As per the records of the Kerala Tourism Development Corporation (KTDC), around 420247 foreign visitors has come to Kerala till October 15. The numbers which usually goes up during the Christmas and new year season, has considerably increased by the end of the year. This is a very good growth in the tourists number which was 401063  last year. Even after the woes of the Financial crisis in Greece which caused a widespread tension in the whole Europe, the increase in the number of tourists shows the positive side of Kerala tourism. Kerala which is famous for its  pleasant and equable climate throughout the year is one of the best places to escape from the bitter Winter season in Europe. The survey taken by the KTDC shows that, Europe tourist’s are more interested towards Ayurveda, the rivers and backwaters of Kerala and its villages. The Kerala Tourism has been rated as the runner up for the Favorite Indian Leisure Destination prize. This has become a proud moment for the Kerala Tourism Development Corporation, which has been keen on the tourism development and promotion across the state for the past several years. The winners, in fact, were chosen by the readers of Conde Naste Travellor magazine. The factors that which got considered were travel, tourism and hospitality. Jatayupara to Jatayu Nature Park

The famous Jatayupara at Chadayamangalam has been converted to the nature park preserving its mytholigical importance and natural beauty. The park will have the largest bird sculpture of the world on top of the hill(200 feet long, 150 feet broad, 70 feet in height and having 15,000 square foot of floor area). The sculpture is that of the mythical bird Jatayu, who is said to have fallen after the fight with the Asura King Ravana who Kidnapped Sita, the wife of Lord Rama.
