Kerala is Europe’s favourite tourism destination

Kerala, popularly known as the God’s Own Country is one of the Europe’s favorite travel and tourism destinations, As per the records of the Kerala Tourism Development Corporation (KTDC), around 420247 foreign visitors has come to Kerala till October 15.

The numbers which usually goes up during the Christmas and new year season, has considerably increased by the end of the year. This is a very good growth in the tourists number which was 401063  last year.

Even after the woes of the Financial crisis in Greece which caused a widespread tension in the whole Europe, the increase in the number of tourists shows the positive side of Kerala tourism. Kerala which is famous for its  pleasant and equable climate throughout the year is one of the best places to escape from the bitter Winter season in Europe.

The survey taken by the KTDC shows that, Europe tourist’s are more interested towards Ayurveda, the rivers and backwaters of Kerala and its villages. Also, the easiness in getting the visa and other travelling permits has also attracted more Europeans to Kerala. Moreover Kerala is widely known as a safe and tension free state of India.

But surprisingly the Indian visitors are more attracted towards Australia and Indian visitors to Australia made a record last year.

How to Get the travel permit and Visa easily to Kerala

The Ministry of External affairs of the Central Government has introduced the ‘Visa on Arrival’ has created a boost to the state’s tourism developments. With this new process, all the tourists has to do is to fill up and submit an online application form and for Visa. The permission letter for entering the country will be sent to the applicant via email. This letter can be used to obtain the visa upon arrival to the State.

The Visa is valid for 30 days and can be obtained from either the Thiruvananthapuram International Airport or the Cochin International Airport which are the main airports of the state.
