Konni ecotourism offering coracle rafting in Kerala

Konni ecotourism project

The famous water ride in Hogganackal is an unforgettable experience. The uniqueness of it is the boat itself. Unlike the traditional shapes, the Hogganackal boating is through coracles which is round in shape. Now the same boating has reached God’s Own Country.

The Konni ecotourism centre, Pathanamthitta has bought the new coracle rides (bowl boats) in the Kallar river. In the shallow parts of the river, the tourists are also allowed to steer the boat, unlike the Hogganackal ride which is considered fairly dangerous. There will be a trained operator for each coracle. The vadakke mannira forest conservation society has introduced Kappa, fish curry, tea and coffee which will be served during weekends.

Adavi Konni Route

Adavi is the place from which the coracle ride begins. Adavi Konni route is approximately 16KM in the banks of Kallar river. The Adavi ecotourism facility has car parking space and forest office is also present for any inquiries. Bus facility is also available from Konni to Adavi.
