A travel diary full of adventure and fun I had in 2016

Every year is a new page for the traveler to explore the world. The more you travel the faster you will fill the pages in your life. After years of traveling you will realize that job fills only your pocket, travel fills your soul.

Like every year this year was also amazing for me. I did get a chance to collaborate with more travelers, explored more offbeat destinations, new hill stations and many more. Reading other travel blog will also help you to shape the traveler in you.

All most all travel stories were my new learning from other travel blogs and travel communities.

2016 was an excellent year for me in terms of travel. I could cover more places than previous year. I got more readers and subscribers for my travel blog and definitely my fan page has improved a lot. Thanks for being a wonderful traveler cum reader with me in all my journeys.

Latest offbeat destinations explored in 2016

As I said, it was indeed a year full of journeys. Here are some of the new destinations I could conquer this year.

Katoothimedu idukki

Travelers who have visited Idukki,Kerala doesn’t need any extra buttering for that magnificent destination. Every inch of Idukki is that beautiful.

Kattoothimedu Idukki

A little more isolated from the external world and as being less known outside, Kattoothimedu holds its pristine beauty still with it. Situated at a height of 4000 feet above the sea level, this beautiful area is the part of Senapathy Gramapanchayath of the Idukki district.

Another speciality of Kattuthimedu is the fact that it is surrounded by rivers in its three sides. A Lotus pond and the beautiful nature surrounding it are the other main attractions to name. As other places in Idukki district of Kerala, Kattuthimedu has its own unique and exquisite beauty.

Uluppuni Idukki

Travelers visiting Vagamon can definitely consider this beautiful destination in their travel bucket. Uluppuni is around 16kms from vagamon towards pulikanam route.

uluppuni-idukki

The major attraction of Uluppuni is the picturesque meadows. Whoever visited Vagamon might have seen the real beauty of meadows there. One can see the even better version of the meadows at Uluppuni.

Uluppuni journey will be a very good trekking experience and worth putting some efforts to see the majestic scenery. The route is completely in an off-road condition which can offer you certain level of adventure also.

Almost 7 kms needs to be traveled in this off-road for the view points. You can see the Kulamavu Dam reservoir from the view point which is exceptionally beautiful from the hill top.

Phantom Kettu, Munnar

Phantom head peak is one among the new hill stations in Kerala, situated almost 7000 feet from sea level. From the Anaerangal Camp one has to travel almost 6kms through the off road route to reach the peak point. The road is narrow enough where hardly a jeep can manage in one direction.

Phantom head peak Munnar

The left turn from the Pappathi Chola (A water stream’s name) route will lead us to the phantom’s head road. Unfortunately the road to Kolukkumali through Pappathi Chola has been completely blocked for vehicles.

It is much recommended to reach the peak point which will give you the real feast for your eyes. The splendid sunrise of phantom’s head is beyond my skills of writing. The golden rays will fall on the clouds and mist which will make your surroundings like a paradise.

Chokkana Thrissur

Travelers who are usually visiting Thrissur will mostly cover the well known travel destinations like Athirappilly Waterfalls, Vazhachaal and Marottichal Waterfalls.

How to reach chokkana

Chokkana is a village in Kodakkara, Thrissur. The very green lush meadows there will be definitely a feast for your eyes. One can feel the cool breeze touching on your cheeks smoothly.

If you are a travel nomad, Chokkana won’t dissatisfies you for sure. Kindly don’t expect any big hotels and restaurants there like other known travel destinations. Chokkana is the least exposed among the new hill stations in Kerala.

What travel story has surprised me the most?

You will be definitely surprised if you are hearing this story for the first time, the story of an Indian island where the intruders are not allowed to enter.

Neither the travelers nor the government can enter there even though this island is part of India. They will receive you with bows and arrows! The Indian government has thus declared the entire island, to be an exclusion zone.

Interesting ? read more about that from here Sentinel Island, World’s most inaccessible place!

How to make time for travel despite a busy schedule?

Time is really tricky. It can run out, it can fly and be up. Time can be spent, killed, and passed. There are people who believes the time as money. Whatever it is, the funniest part is people don’t have it.

I have seen so many people who are really interested in traveling but giving excuses like I don’t think I will be able to make it alone, I am not a professional in that, it’s very expensive etc. But the one I will always hear is I don’t have any time.
