The phantom’s head which nobody have seen in munnar

Phantom head peak Munnar

The best quality I have seen with travelers are their interest in exploring the new meadows for them. Traveling will never make you disappointed if you are visiting strange and unknown places.

This time I am introducing yet another hill station in south India which most of you might not have added in your travel bucket.

Phantom’s head peak, the name itself is rare for a hill station that too in south India. Anyway, Phantom’s head is a very good place for the nomads who loves nature & photography.

Phantom’s head is also as beautiful as Meesipulimala and Kolukkumalai having more than 7000 feet altitude from sea level.

The off-road journey and trekking will make you in love with the Western Ghats. Phantom’s head is also known as “Phantom Kettu” in that locality. Keep this in mind which will be highly useful if you have plans to visit.

Usually travelers will prefer staying in Anaerangal Camp for visiting the peak of phantom’s head. This is yet another amazing experience which a traveler should experience there. The below information will be beneficent for the wander lusters to a great extent.

Phantom head peak Munnar

Phantom head peak is situated almost 7000 feet from sea level. From the Anaerangal Camp one has to travel almost 6kms through the off road route to reach the peak point. The road is narrow enough where hardly a jeep can manage in one direction.

The left turn from the Pappathi Chola (A water stream’s name) route will lead us to the phantom’s head road. Unfortunately the road to Kolukkumali through Pappathi Chola has been completely blocked for vehicles.

It is much recommended to reach the peak point which will give you the real feast for your eyes. The splendid sunrise of phantom’s head is beyond my skills of writing. The golden rays will fall on the clouds and mist which will make your surroundings like a paradise.

You can enjoy the beauty of mountains and valleys along with the wide view of dam across the Anaerangal Lake. Meadows are the attraction of phantom’s head peak.

The destination is not yet commercialized like other hill stations in Munnar Suryanelli territory. The trekking path and jeep path are different and hardly will you find people in this route.

Phantom Head Trek takes you on a easy trek to Phantom Head peak near Munnar. The trek begins from Anaerangal camp and passes through beautiful tea gardens and cardamom plantations. The summit offers excellent views of the sunset over Western Ghats.
